Thank You!

Those are the only words that I want to tell them. As my love towards them are beyond words, nothing on earth can be compared to them or replace them.

Though my Grandma lives quite far away from us, we visit her almost every Saturday.

We will go for dinner together. Whenever our family members met any difficulties, she will always be there to support us.

I remember when I was young, I was very mischievous and used to play with my father’s laptop.

Once, I even spoilt it. After my father had found out, he went to take the cane from his room.

Without hesitation, I hid behind her quickly. Then, my Grandma tried her best to persuade my father.

After a while, he put down the cane and warned me not to do that again.

Immediately I gave my Grandma a sheepish smile a hug as a sign to express my gratitude.

When I was young, my grandparents were living in the same block as my family.

Almost everyday, we went to their house and had dinner together.

I really missed those days. People used to say that in the olden days, people normally favour son over daughter.

But you do not, you treat every of your grandchildren equally.

Dearest Ah Ma,

Although you only speak Hokkien, I hope that you will understand this note that I have always wanted to tell you.

After the year that you down from a stroke, I miss your cooking a lot.

Your cooking is GREAT! Although Ah Gong has gone to Heaven earlier, I sincerely hope that you will stay healthy and happy always.

If not because of you, I don’t think we will have any family gathering.

I like family gatherings, as all our family members are around and we will all play and laugh together. It is really fun.

I always hope that time could come to a halt at that moment. I always want the moment to last FOREVER.

Whenever you tell me that your leg is in pain, I really really hope that you could share the pain with me or give me all the pain. Then, I won’t be seeing you in pain anymore.

I LOVE YOU, Ah Ma and Ah Gong.

Thank you for everything you have done for us. For me, you and Ah Gong are the BEST grandparents in the whole wide world.
