Dear Grandma,

You, once, was a little Chinese newborn, given away and raised by a Malay family. It wasn’t easy living in a Malay community with a Chinese appearance, especially when you’re just a little girl, but you managed to pull the hardship through.

Married at only 15 years old, you found my dearest late grandfather and had a son and a pair of twins. Your life wasn’t all flowers and butterfiles, but you live your life, your way. My feelings for you are beyond incomparable than anything else in this world.

Not only you are my grandma, you’re my role-model. You never once gave up, and will always do your best for the sake of your loved ones. Even though you’re sick and not as strong as before, you still cook my favourite dishes, and also help us with whatever problems we had. Without your sacrifices and how you choosed your path, me and my loved ones won’t be who we are today.

You are the one who always ensure that all your grandchildren are neat and tidy for school.

You are the one who carried me on your back when you sent my brother to school, and fell weak just to prevent anything bad from occurring to your grandchildren.

You are our spine, you are the light who brightens our day.

You are my one and only grandmother.

Thank you for taking care of me since young.

Thank you for spending your hard-earned money on me.

Thank you for listening to my problems.

Thank you for all the food you cook for me.

Thank you for teaching me the meaning of life.

Thank you for bringing me to places I’ve never been before.

Thank you for all the advices you gave, it really does help.
