I still remember the days I spend with my grandparents. Although my grandfather has passed away, I can still vividly remember the days we spent together.
Long ago, my grandfather worked at a trading company. it was quite tough for him as he had to wake up very early in the morning at about 5 to 6am. Despite that, he continued and persevered for my parents and for my aunties. He did not eat during his break sometimes and worked overtime mostly all the time. I really admired him, I was really touched by his determination and courage.
If he had not worked as hard, I might not be writing this composition today, I might not even have been born! I spent some great times with my grandfather, he told me a lot of tales which I often enjoyed. He has also done a lot of things for me, like taking me to walk every single day and buying toys for me every week.
I did not neglect him as I grew older and more mature. I felt that it was my turn to repay him. I bought breakfast for him most of the time, as he did for me when I was young. I always bought fishball noodles for him. I just gave him the best for anything he needed because he is my grandfather for life.
When he passed away, I cried a lot. As the seconds ticked by, my numbness gave way to sheer agony. I contorted as I tried my very best to keep the tears inside me, like a young boy grappling with tragedy. I could not help it but to burst into tears. I wished that I could just spend a few more minutes with him before he passed away. I cupped my face in my hands and cried out heart-wrenchingly. Everybody was so depressed and grief-stricken.
Long ago, my grandmother worked in the airport, as a worker in the catering department. It was also a tough job because she needed to take out all that food from the freezer to the airplane. Her hands were sore but she just concentrated on her work and did not care about her health. Hence, she needed to endure the coldness and now her hands are giving her problems. Although she found the job difficult, she still persevered to make a living. Now all her children are filial to her, like giving her money every month and visiting her every week and most importantly, celebrating her birthday every year, which means all her hard work paid off.
I really admire a lot of grandparents. They sacrificed a lot to make a living and for the sake of the family and all they did made us who we are today.
