Dear Grandpa and Grandma:

“Singapore will never be the same without the both of you there”.

Living abroad has many advantages and certain disadvantages. Like one of them is being away from the people you love, in my case they are my grandparents Mr. Tan A Ting and Mrs. Jaw Ah Keow.

It’s strange not to be able to see their tender smiles or listen to their wise words and stories about the olden days any more. Chinese New Year hasn’t been the same since then too. My grandmother’s cooking is something that I usually miss as she always used to have some Chinese rice porridge, duck eggs or Hainanese chicken and rice in her kitchen. She always knew how much I love those dishes.

I still remember the day when my grandparents gave me my first wrist watch and camera .The way how they used to pamper me with sweets and tiny gifts behind my parents backs too. We used to visit parks, zoos, malls or even spend time together at home. Sometimes when my mom or dad got upset with me when I did something mischievous, they were always there, showing me their support.
