Launched on Grandparents’ Day, 25 November 2007, Letters From Grandma & Grandpa is published as a series of books in Singapore’s four official languages – English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. These books carries a collection of different letters in their respective languages, with three letters from each book translated and published in all four books.

These books will be on sale at a retail price of S$15.90 per copy (excluding GST) at Kinokuniya, MPH, Popular and Times.
Each book is a collaboration between NLB and media partners, Berita Harian, Lianhe Zaobao and Tamil Murasu, who took the lead in creating and producing the books. MediaCorp Radio 938LIVE has also produced a series of radio programmes based on the content of the letters.
Each letter captures the personal stories, thoughts and views of the individual who contributed to the book. Grandchildren and their parents will be able to appreciate the wisdom of their seniors through these letters.
Grandparents themselves will be able to identify with the love and wisdom in the letters shared by other grandparents. If you can read all four languages, you will find that these books showcase many similarities amongst Singapore’s multi-ethnic society.
