About the Contest

About the Contest
To My Grandpa/Grandma is a nation-wide contest where grandchildren of all ages were invited to share stories and memories of their grandparents by either writing a letter/story or producing a digital film/video (contest is closed).

Learning Lessons. Words of wisdom.
Letters. Prose. Poems. Interviews. Slideshows. Animation.
Thoughts. Feelings. Expressions. Tributes.
Stories. Memories.

Told from the perspective of grandchildren, these stories and memories capture the love, wisdom and important values of seniors in Singapore. Selected entries were compiled into special edition books, a legacy to be passed on for all generations of Singaporeans.

To My Grandpa/Grandma is organised by the National Library Board (NLB) and supported by:

  • STOMP
  • My Paper
  • SA Tours (prize sponsor)
  • Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS)
  • Council for Third Age (C3A)
  • Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts (MICA)
