Eligibility
- All Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Singapore residents can participate.
- Entries that contain any illegal, defamatory, obscene, or offensive material will be disqualified.
Opening Date and Closing Date
- The opening date for submission of entries is 23 June 2008 and the closing date is 31 August 2008.
Written Entries
- Each entry must not exceed 500 words.
- Only original submissions by individuals will be accepted.
- The organisers reserve the right to edit the entries prior to publication onto any platform.
Digital Video Entries
- Only original submissions by individuals or groups are acceptable.
- Minimum length of 30 seconds, maximum length of 5 minutes.
- Videos can be in any style or genre (animation, documentary, narratives using photos, etc) but final work must be in digital format (mini-DV, Digi Beta, HD, mobile phone, digital still camera, Flash, etc).
- If videos are not in English, English subtitles should be included.
- All participants must own all copyrights or have written permission to use all materials, music and other sensitive aspects in their videos.
Contest Winners
- Winners will be determined by a combination of public voting and decision by judges convened by the National Library Board, Singapore. The judges’ decision is final. No appeal will be entertained.
Selection of Entries for Publication
- The National Library Board, Singapore will convene a panel of judges to select entries to be published into a book, which may not include the winning entries from the contest. The judges’ decision is final. No appeal will be entertained.
Personal Information
- Entries have to include participant’s name(s), age(s), IC number(s), contact number(s), address/email address, name of school (for Primary & Secondary category where applicable) in their submission. Failure to do so may disqualify the entry.
- Information collected from participants may be used to update them on promotions, services, programmes and events run by the National Library Board, Singapore and/or to compile statistics.
Others
- The National Library Board, Singapore reserves the right to edit the submission for publishing and to use the submission (including any photograph recevied) on all media, without further consent from any party.
- The National Library Board, Singapore reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions of this programme from time to time without prior notice.
